Along with a list of over 100 herbs and their magickal uses, there's everything you need to know to get started in herb magick. The Complete Book of Incense, Oils & Brews by Scott Cunningham This book goes into more detail than *Magickal Herbalism* with more recipes and preparation tips for incense, oils, teas, etc. Indispensible reference book. Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs by Scott Cunningham Over 400 herbs are covered, with magickal uses of each. Another book you don't want to be without. Witch's Brew : Secrets of Scents by Morwyn For another point of view, read this one. Exotic recipes, spells, perfume blending, plus a list of many magickal herbs and their uses. Wylundt's Book of Incense by Steven R. Smith A comprehensive guide to making incense - cones, sticks and loose. Loads of recipes plus the magickal uses of many herbs. Charms, Spells, and Formulas by Ray T. Malbrough Hoodoo magick. Here you'll find incense, oils, powders and washes - recipes and spells. This is a good book to round out your herbal library. A Field Guide to Medicinal Plants by Steven Foster & James A. Duke If you're going to gather your own herbs - magickal OR medicinal, it helps to know what you're looking for. And that's where this book comes in. In our opinion, this, and the other Peterson Field Guides are the best identification books out there. The New Holistic Herbal by David Hoffman Hoffman discusses herbs in relation to the different body systems, plus how to prepare various herbal potions. There's also a good dictionary of the herbs and their uses. An excellent book on herbal healing. An Encyclopedia of Natural Healing for Children and Infants by Mary Bove This one is for the wee ones in your life. What herbs are safe for children and how to use them, plus sections on nutrition and building the immune system. Very well done. The Way of Herbs by Michael Tierra Another excellent herbal crammed full of information. There's a large section on the healing herbs (both American and Chinese) and their uses. Herbal preparations and recipes, properties and therapies are thoroughly covered here. |
